Who are FOCUS?
The parent-teacher association (PTA) for UCPS is called FOCUS (Friends of the University of Cambridge Primary School). We are a registered charity and our aims are to build a family community and raise money for our school.
The committee
The 8-person committee is elected at the beginning of each school year. We are all volunteers and we all have children at the school. We organise events for children, as well as for parents, carers and teachers, with the aim of raising vital funds for the school’s ongoing development and bringing our community together.
FOCUS work closely with the teaching staff and are committed to raising money to fund projects such as adding to the library’s resources, purchasing playground equipment and developing the arts and drama programme.
Get involved
FOCUS is a fun-loving group of parents and carers, who come from diverse backgrounds and possess a wide range of skills. Together we put together some great events – and wonderful memories for our children. Everyone is welcome, no matter what your contribution or where you come from!
We are always happy to hear from anyone that would like to help out at events or be involved with the committee. Please contact us via email (focusucps@gmail.com) or Twitter (@FOCUS_UCPS) or joining the Focusucps Facebook group.
A spicy challenge! The ‘Green Shoots’ Fund
We all share the school’s vision to provide an exceptional education for our children. To help the school to fulfil this vision as fully as possible, FOCUS is launching the ‘Green Shoots Fund’to raise additional and much-needed discretionary funds for the school.
This initiative is an easy and efficient way for the parent and wider community to ease some of the school’s financial burdens, which will help the school to deliver its broad and ambitious curriculum. Learn more by clicking here and access the Green Shoots Fund standing order and GiftAid form here.
The importance of Gift Aid
If you are a UK tax payer, your donation to the school will automatically be increased by an additional 25% (at no further cost to you) if you complete a Gift Aid form. We would like to thank you in advance for your generosity and we will fully account for the donations that we receive.
Other opportunities for giving
If it is challenging to find the time to volunteer or to attend events (challenges we understand very well!), there are many other ways that you can support the school.
- Donate to UCPS using one of various avenues. Learn more. [NBED: Link to UCPS Donations page]
