Hi everyone we’re the new star journalists, and this is this week’s blog:

Boar story finished

After a long week, we have finally finished writing our stories ready for the upcoming competition for Queens’ College.

We have cut, drawn and written to make our stories fantastic. The most difficult part of story making was folding a single piece of paper into the final published book.

Super Science

We’ve had super scientist Dr. Gillis  come and tell us all about his experiment on the Andaman Island stick insects. They had 3 males and 3 females and looked under a microscope to find out that the colour had changed from light brown to a pure red. He told us about his amazing adventures under the water looking at skate and discovering ancient fossils in deserts. He went to lots of different universities  all over the world like Chicago and Canada to become such a great zoologist. From this week on, we are going to have more science visitors to speak to us, how exciting!!!

Mysterious Maths

This week we focused on negative numbers, rounding and place values playing games like the fun and interesting murder mysteries. We had to complete clues including lines of symmetry, fractions and lots more maths stuff!

Negative Numbers and Calculation

Punchy propaganda

We have been looking at propagandas in topic, they really punched you when you read them – it was almost as if, if you didn’t go to join the war you were a ‘chicken.’ There were also propaganda that was for women saying that they had to replace the men because they were all fighting for victory, but before they said that women had to stay inside so is this fair or is it not?

Next week

  • A focus on Lt. Shepard’s life in more detail
  • Black History Month
