IT’S OVER!!! Massive well done to everyone in year 6 who tackled their SATS with such calm and confidence. We are immensely pleased and proud of what you have achieved this week.

But of course… SATS aren’t life! So there was plenty of other stuff we got up to this week as well.

In English, we continued developing our dystopian stories, inspired by Philip Reeve’s Mortal Engines. We really enjoying reading this terrific story and we will also pick it up in Guided Reading so that we can enjoy it to the fullest.

Our own stories are coming along very nicely. This week we worked on setting descriptions, creating our own dystopian worlds in which to situate the characters we created last week. Next week we will work on developing the plot of our narratives.

In maths, we recapped content in advance of the SATS. Next week, we’re looking forward to some project-based learning, focusing on shape and money.

In science, we continued our learning on microbiology, experimenting with useful fungi like yeast, testing whether the presence of sugar would speed up the process of fermentation.

Reminder:

The age of use for WhatsApp is 16+. There has been much concern over the content of some WhatsApp group chats that year 6 children have been involved in and we urge you to be vigilant towards your child’s online activity.

Wishing you all a wonderful weekend.
