This week you will receive a message from the lead online teacher for UKS2 on Monday, explaining the new home learning look from this week. On Tuesday and Thursday you will receive extra-curricular videos and a message from the class teacher on Friday, as well as the next chapter in our Reading for Pleasure story. All other video lessons will be links to BBC Bitesize, BBC Teach, Oak Academy and NCETM. Resources for the entire week will be available on this blog.
Many activities will link to the “Unlock Challenge”, a set of challenges tailored to each yeargroup that focuses on achievable curriculum skills to focus on before we return to school.

Our Guided Reading text this week is all about actors.
Activity 1 Retrieval Skills
Activity: Answer these questions.
Challenge: What is a ‘career path’ (line 47)? Give examples of a career path for a profession of your choice (e.g. teacher, doctor, actor).
Activity 2 Inference Skills
Activity: From line 27, there is a list of school subjects that are useful in teaching skills for someone to become an actor. In your home-school learning book explain why you think each subject could be useful to actors. Use the main responsibilities from line 4 to help you with your explanations.
Challenge: What other school subjects could be useful to an actor? Why? Are there any that an actor would not need to study?
Activity 3 Prediction Skills
Activity: From line 35 there are a list of skills that are needed for someone to become an actor. Can you think of any other jobs that would need some, or all, of these skills?
Challenge: Write a short story about the journey of someone who dreams of being an actor.
