This week, our brains have had a good ole’ workout as we have delved into long division. The children have done brilliantly wrapping their heads around a multitude of skills. This week, we focused on long division without remainders. For extra practice, see here:Maths sheets
In English, we have been planning our biographies, inspired by Rosalind Franklin and in Guided Reading, we have enjoyed seeing the character development of Scrooge in A Christmas Carol. His heart is beginning to slowly thaw…but will the change last?
Here are the spellings for the week, with a focus on the ‘er’ sound:
desert | dessert | herd |
heard | perspective | determined |
interrupt | shoulder | government |
unconcerned | research | favourite |
Next week:
- Long division, writing remainders as fractions and decimals
- Writing and publishing our biographies
- We will be covering our Year 6 content for Relationships and Sex Education
Wishing you a wonderful, extra-long weekend.
