A mixed team of girls and boys attended the Canary Cup this week – making it all the way to the final! The tournament involved 15 teams and was held at Northstowe Secondary School.
Following 3 wins and a (controversial) loss in the group stages, UCPS qualified for the semi-final. An intense match with Histon ended in a draw, which meant only one thing – penalties!
An heroic performance from our penalty goalkeeper, A, as well as some clinical finishing, put us through to the final. This also ended in a draw – oh no, penalties again..! Sadly, it was not to be on this occasion, but the whole team can be incredibly proud of their performance.
Our focus around Children’s Mental Health week has been all around growth and this experience certainly contributed to the growth of our character.
