To start off the spring term, we have immersed ourselves in the fairy tale world of Hans Christian Andersen. Across the school, every class has been enjoying and learning about the story of The Brave Tin Soldier. In Year 6, we have also been particularly interested in the less-traditional aspects of the tale and we have looked carefully at the characters involved. As part of this, we considered how the protagonists got to be in their positions and wrote flashbacks/prologues to elaborate on these ideas. We recorded these on concertina booklets and, I think you’ll agree, the outcome is very impressive.
