…Sea level rise
In STEM this week we were looking at different ways to harness energy from nature. We learnt about the impact of climate change by conducting an investigation into sea level rise, and what might happen if the ice caps melt. We collected data over the morning as the ice slowly melted and then recorded it in a line graph. Line graphs are an important part of the Year 5 Maths curriculum. …The Impossible
We continued our first person narrative inspired by The Impossible and this week we were looking at how to shift the mood between two settings. We looked at verbs, adverbs and adjectives to help us do this.
…Puberty!
In our RSE lessons, we have been learning all about what happens to the human body during puberty and the things that males and females might experience in this time. It has been really interesting and the children have asked some brilliant questions about it.
…Equivalent Fractions
In Maths we have continued our unit on fractions by learning about equivalent fractions and how to spot them. Knowledge of times tables, factors and multiples is really crucial here, so do keep those facts fresh. Some of this week’s learning can be found here: Lesson 3 sheets
Next week:
Next week is the last week of term. We have the Christmas lunch on Thursday 19th December, so children are invited to bring a hat or festive jumper to wear if they would like.
School term will finish on Friday 20th December at 1.30pm.
