What a knowledge-filled week in Year 5!

In English, we continued exploring the world of “The Mysteries of Harris Burdick” and looked at some incredible pictures to fuel our creativity. The children continued to create mysterious paragraphs filled with suspense and action.

In Maths, we multiplied integers by fractions and mixed numbers, exploring various methods to do so.

In STEM, we continued exploring the Solar System, looking at the distances between planets. We also talked about the different planets and their temperatures, especially Venues, which is a bit of an outlier.

In Project, we continued our D&T project to create reading spaces outside. This time, we designed our structures and started testing them.

In Guided Reading, we continued Zoe’s story as she navigates her experiences with the Eels tribe.

Next Week:

  • Reminder to bring PE kits for Wednesday
  • Reminder that next week we will start Forest School. Could the children please bring in wellies, waterproof trousers and general warm clothes, as Forest School will go forward regardless of weather
