From our roving reporters:
This week, we have been choosing some weird and wonderful creatures that have been overlooked. Some of the animals that have been chosen are truly horrific (oops, no, I mean ‘weird and wonderful’ of course… but especially the naked mole rat). There is everything from blobfish to bumblebee bats and much more in our classes’ ‘weird and wonderful’ not horrific at all pop-up book.
Eventually, we will each create a poem with moving parts. These moving parts, which we have been learning about in Design and Technology, are made out of split pins (as pivots) and stiff card for the levers and linkages.
This half term we are partaking in a science project once a week for eight weeks. In these sessions (called ‘Bright and Breezy’) we are focusing on renewable energy and its forms. So far, we have learnt that energy cannot be created or destroyed but instead changes form constantly and disperses into the air. We have looked at different ways of making renewable energy, like solar panels and wind turbines.
In maths, we have been rounding blobfish to the first decimal place.
