It has been wonderful to welcome the children back to school this week for the beginning of a new academic year! The children have all settled into Year 5 brilliantly and it has been lovely to see them enjoying their new year group. The teachers have been impressed with the positive attitude shown towards learning, the school values and to each other. We are really looking forward to teaching you all this year.
Next Week in Year 5:
English; refreshing grammar knowledge, including sentence structures, nouns, verbs, adjectives and punctuation.
Maths; place value, working with numbers up to 1,000,000.
Project; starting our history project, all about the Anglo-Saxons.
STEM; investigating soluble materials.
PRE; exploring the theme of ‘belonging’ in our Sikhism unit.

Olympus Thursday
Sessions will begin the week commencing 15th September.
PE will take place every Wednesday. Please ensure children bring their PE kit, which should include a white T-shirt, navy blue bottoms and trainers.
We would also like each child to bring in a family photo for our classroom family display board.
