We have had an eventful, action packed week this week, being writers and scientists on top of all of our other skills!
We were completely delighted to remotely welcome Dr Gillis (and his wonderful Year 5 research assistant) this week, to learn all about Zoology- the first of a series of visits we are lucky to have to teach us what being a scientist looks like as a career.
In History, we have been unpicking WW1 propoganda and have started making our own.
In English, we have published our narratives (inspired by ‘Just So’ stories and the Second Tale in The Silver Donkey) into carefully crafted storybooks. We have also magpied descriptive language of no mans land during WW1 from our text and had lively discussion about character, as we have used talk to construct a shared understanding of the story.

It would be wonderful if as many families as possible could purchase it for their child to have a copy. Similarly to before, it would be even better if children knew that they were allowed to make notes in their books to help their understanding.
