Our week started with a visit from the Centre for Computing History in Cambridge, which included an overview of robotics history and a demonstration from their very own NAO robot – JnFR!
In English we have been writing the resolutions to our robot stories and have started to publish them. There has been a lot of work on revising and redrafting this week. We have also started following a new scheme for spellings called Sounds Write. Each day we learn a few new words using a routine of breaking the word down into syllables and the syllables into phonics sounds. This week’s list can be found below.
In Maths we have been learning about multiplication between two digit and three digit numbers. We have explored both an ‘open array’ method and a long multiplication method. Children have practiced this and begun to apply it to real life problems.
This week’s Maths sheets can be downloaded here for extra practice. Maths sheets wk 3
The Table Tennis Club is up and running this half term with Mr Jackson. Here they are during their first session.

A Dove Has Spread Her Wings And Asks For Peace (1982)
We finished the week with a day in solidarity with Ukraine and other people around the world that are experiencing hardship at this time. The whole school participated in an art workshop inspired by the work of Maria Primachenko. You can see some of her work on this website:
