It has been another wonderful week of learning this week in Year 5.
In English this week, we started to explore poetry, looking at a range of poems including the original Beowulf poem as well as exploring features of poetry such as kennings and metaphors.
In Maths, we have begun our unit on negative numbers. Maths sheets will follow on this post on Monday due to technical difficulties.
In STEM, we looked at the process of oxidation, conducting an investigation to see how metal corrodes in different types of liquids.
Reminder for Year 5: please ensure that all children have a winter kit that is suitable for their outdoor PE session please.
Next week:
English: we will continue to work on poetry, writing our own poems that retell the story of Beowulf and his battle with Grendel.
Maths: we will be continuing our work on negative numbers.
Project: we will continue focusing on our History project, which is all about the Anglo-Saxons.
Well done to all of the children for another fantastic week in Year 5!
Very best wishes,
The Year 5 Team
