What a wonderful half term packed with learning!

In English, we some great drama lessons performing our wonderful Beowulf retelling. The children were amazing, they performed with lovely intonation and precise rhythm, bringing to life the old Anglo-Saxon hero and his nemesis Grendel.

In Maths, we continued to revise mental strategies such as partitioning and re-balancing. Maths Worksheet

In STEM, we devised our own experiment based on dissolving materials. The children were incredible, creating their own enquiry questions and testing them using the knowledge they have acquired throughout the half term.

In Project, we explored the why the Anglo-Saxon king Alfred the Great was titled “The Great”, debating what makes a good leader.

On Wednesday afternoon, we also had an incredible assembly on the story of “The Windrush” with an incredible performance.

Next Half Term:

  • The first week, we will explore the story of “The Firebird” linked to the music of Igor Stravisnky
  • On the 6th of November, we will have our Anglo-Saxon day. During this day, we ask, if possible, that the children come in Anglo-Saxon themed clothing (as usual, no weapons please)
