What great fun we have had during this week. The children have really enjoyed exploring many different topics from “The Restoration” in England to how to create an efficient lever.

In English. The children created beautiful descriptive sentences to analise setting, characters and action. Their writing has evolved wonderfully and their narrative building has been incredible. They have used techniques such as Zoom in/Zoom out, Top to Bottom and Inside/Outside.

In Maths, we have explored and revised how to divide and multiply by 10/100/1000, focusing on reasoning and problem solving.

In STEM, we have used our new building kits to create lever and pulleys to explore the relationship between lever and distance from the fulcrum. The children have loved creating these.

In Guided Reading, we continued to read about Bradley and Jeff’s friendship, which is going through a tough moment.

In Project, we looked at the mathematical Mayan system. The children really had to stretch their brains to comply with the vigesimal system. They have really liked to explore this and especially loved trying to figure out additions.

Next Week

  • Reminder that our swimming days are Tuesdays and Fridays, and to bring a swimming kit with goggles, towel and cap. Goggles really help with confidence in the water.
  • Reminder that our PE day is Wednesday, and to bring PE kits.
