Another wonderful week in Year 5!
In English, we continued our work on the HMT Windrush. The children have really enjoyed creating psoters for our Windrush exhibition, we can’t wait to show them to you on Family Friday!
In Maths, we have been having fun with volume, creating interesting shapes with multilink cubes. The children investigated how to calculate the volume of both normal and compound 3d shapes.
In STEM, we investigated how to prevent and treat infections, learning all about our body’s immune system. The children also learned about dental health and how infections can spread from the mouth, conducting an experiment on how much sugar our daily diets have.
In Guided Reading, we finally met someone else in the Amazon! The Explorer is here. We have had fun trying to predict if he will be friend or foe, what do you guys think?
