Another great week in Year 5!

In English, we really delved into characters and how to use different rhetorical language to describe their emotions, as well as how to create a compelling backstory and give them believable motivations. The children create some incredible characters and had fun creating their backstories.

In Maths, we continued to explore fractions and learned how to add fractions with a total greater than one.

In STEM, we continued exploring plants and how they reproduce, looking at plants that can reproduce by themselves, exploring the advantages and disadvantages of this system/

In Guided Reading, we continued reading Noor’s story, following her assignment in France, where she has now become an official spy.

In Project, we continued looking at coasts, exploring tidal and continental islands.

Ultimately, a big thank you to everyone who came to our Bilingual Jackanory, we had an amazing time and we look forward to future sessions (so don’t worry if you couldn’t come this time)

As always, if you want to test your Spanish skills with some fun games, you can go here:

Next Week

  • Reminder that our swimming days are Tuesdays and Fridays, and to bring a swimming kit with goggles, towel and cap. Goggles really help with confidence in the water.
  • Reminder that our PE day is Wednesday, and to bring PE kits.
