In English, we continued looking at non-chronological reports about volcanoes and explored their features and technical vocabulary. We have had a great time learning about the types of volcanoes, as well as how they form.
In Maths, we have expanded our knowledge of the formal written methods to calculate additions and subtractions. We are now confident in using those methods with numbers up to 5 and 6 digits.
Week 3 Maths – Addition and Subtraction
In STEM, we have explore the incredible impact of technology and how our lives have improved since the industrial revolution. The children had an amazing time, challenging each other on a series of man vs machine tasks, such as encyclopaedia vs computer, calculator vs human and more!
In Guided Reading, we have continued reading Malamander. We are now starting to identify the plot, as well as the general heroes and villains of the story. Beware the boathook man!
