We continued our journey into Ancient Greece, discovering what happened in the Golden Era. Athenian power grew and we learnt about Pericles and answered whether we thought he was a good leader or not. Our Art lessons tied in with this as we looked at figures and structures that the Ancient Greeks used in the Golden Era.
In English we put ourselves into Odysseus’ shoes and thought about the tough decision he had to make and how he would feel. We ended our week creating our own mythical creatures to include in our future stories.
In Maths we have been looking at the place value of 4-digit numbers and ordering and comparing them. Please see the work for this week here:Maths sheets
STEM has seen us finding out about calories and how many humans and different animals need. We even planned a daily menu for a lion!
Spelling this week saw us looking at the /oe/ sound and how it is spelt in different ways. For example: no, poet, soap, bone and know.
Next week:
English – we will be learning and planning our own Greek Myth
Maths – we will be learning how to round numbers
STEM – we will be investigating how food travels from our teeth and through our digestive system
Humanities – we will be learning all about Pericles’ impact as a leader as well as rehearsing our show!
