Welcome back everyone! We are so excited for this upcoming year and can’t wait to see all the amazing things we will achieve together. This week in Year 4, we have been spending time getting to know each other better and settling into our new classroom routines.
Our days have been focused on reflecting on our amazing school values, which help us be kind, respectful, and hardworking members of our school community. We’ve also enjoyed our first PE lesson of the year — it’s great to get moving and active again! Alongside this, we have started to learn and remember our school rules and daily routines to help make the term run smoothly.

What’s Coming Up This Term?
There’s lots to look forward to this term, including some exciting projects and learning themes:
Project: Ancient Greeks — we’ll dive into the fascinating world of Ancient Greece, learning about their culture, history, and mythology.
Maths: Place value of numbers up to 1000 — mastering this will help us with all sorts of calculations and problem-solving.
English: Writing myths — we’ll be creating our own myth stories inspired by the Ancient Greek tales.
Art: Exploring famous stories from Ancient Greek times and discovering how pottery designs were used to celebrate their legends and everyday life.
A Few Essentials to Remember
To help us all have the best start to the term, here are a few important reminders:
Bring the correct PE kit every PE day- white tee-shirt, navy blue shorts and black trainers.
Don’t forget to bring a healthy snack and a water bottle every day.
Start practising your times tables on Times Tables Rock Stars — this will boost your maths skills.
Try to read at home every day to build your fluency and love of books.
