It’s been wonderful to welcome the children back to school for Autumn 2! We’ve launched our new project in geography which is Biomes. Please feel free to take a look at this link: interactive biome and quiz your children on what they know so far!
In English we have begun our unit on expository texts, which the children have the freedom to write about whatever it is they are ‘experts’ on (though they’re welcome to do some research or brush up on their knowledge at home).
In Maths we have looked at addition with regrouping for 4 digit numbers and in STEM we have begun looking at food chains, and (at the request of some of the children) the food chain game we played is here. There are also other versions for different biomes to try!
Next week we will:
English: continue to plan our facts and practice some craft moves for our text
Maths: making subtraction questions easier by rebalancing (keeping the difference the same, but making the numbers easier to subtract).
FOREST SCHOOL: Forest school begins next week, so please ensure your child comes prepared. If you are not sure what day your child is doing forest school, please check with their teacher.
NOTICE: Please ensure that you are vigilant about nits and that children with long hair have it tied back at all times during school. The children are often in close proximity to each other, and this is a small but impactful change that can help alot to reduce the risk!
