It’s been another exciting week in Year 4! Here’s a quick look at what we’ve been up to.
Maths:
In Maths, we’ve been learning about column addition. The children have been practicing adding larger numbers, making sure to line up the digits correctly and carry over when needed. It’s great to see how confident they’re becoming with this method!
English:
In English, we’ve been exploring poetry, and the students have written their own poems about the water cycle. They’ve used their creativity to describe evaporation, condensation, and precipitation in fun and interesting ways. It’s been fantastic to see their imaginations come alive!
Art:
In Art, we’ve been using pastels to create drawings of predators, linked to our biomes topic. The students have been experimenting with texture, light, and shadow to bring these powerful animals to life on paper.
Science:
In Science, we’ve been learning about food pyramids and decomposers. The children set up an experiment with banana peels—one in soil and one without. Next week, we’ll see how they change!
Geography:
In Geography, we’ve been learning about lines of latitude and how they affect climate and weather patterns around the world.
