Wow! What a fun filled week it has been. We have been non-stop enjoying a range of creative lessons inside and out.

Inside, we have produced different types of art inspired by nature. Some of us have created Shaman Sticks using a variety of different materials such as leaves, rocks, feathers and string. Others have produced detailed pictures of a leaf using mark making.

We have used our creative juices to produce some beautiful pieces of writing. Amazon class have focused on native legends and created an imaginative poem after cloud watching. Whereas, Nile class have focused on folk tales about animals and their features.

During our MagLab session, we explored different textures under the microscope. It was amazing to see the difference up close!

Outside, we have been exploring the forest for minibeasts and invertebrates, choreographing a native dance, orienteering and identifying and measuring shape and perimeter around the playground. We also paired up with Year 1 and together we helped weed the garden.

Pupil voice

“Its been amazing because we have been able to be creative. My favourite part was the orienteering because we were able to discover flags around the school and use them to solve problems.”

“Its been really good because we’ve been able to learn outside. Its been a privilege for us and I feel really lucky.”

“Stem week has been really good because it has been so creative. We have been able to do native dancing and feather art work.”
