What a lovely first week back we have had! It has been wonderful welcoming everyone back and getting to know the children even more. We have really enjoyed finding out about their interests, values and the things that are important to them. We have also been spending time discussing our school values and thinking about how we can demonstrate these every day in UCPS school life.
Here is a bit of what is to come… 📚
English ✍️
We will be writing poetry and learning how to use figurative devices to make our writing more imaginative, descriptive and engaging.
Maths 🔢
We are starting our new unit on place value, working with numbers up to 1,000. We will be exploring the value of each digit and building our understanding of hundreds, tens and ones.
Science 🦷
This term, we will be learning all about the human body, including teeth and digestion. We are looking forward to finding out how our bodies work and investigating some fascinating scientific questions!
History 🏛️
We are particularly excited to begin our new History topic on Ancient Greece! We will be exploring what life was like in Ancient Greece and discovering lots of interesting facts about this incredible civilisation.
Reminders for Next Week 📌
- PE: PE will take place on Wednesday and Thursday, so please make sure your child has the correct PE kit in school.
- Family Board: Please send your child into school with a family photograph for our family board.
- Times Tables: Please start practising your times tables every day at home. Even a few minutes each day will make a big difference!
