We have been so impressed with the children’s dedication this week.

In English, we continued exploring the book “Queen of Darkness”. We started the week by looking at the ways that author show change in a story, we used these techniques to write a comparative piece between two settings. We the looked at the different ways that the characters felt as the story progressed and questioned their decisions.

In Maths, we have started exploring perimeter. We used lots of practical examples to help the children come to terms with new concept.

In History, we we explored the reasons behind the Roman’s invasion of Britain. After using clues to figure out why they came, the children wrote songs to explain this, we performed the songs to the class and they were amazing!! It was create to see the children’s musical talents crossing over into their history.

Next week:

In English, as the story begins to come to an end, we are going to be looking at how the author has changed out opinions on characters. We are also going to use our predicative skills to make conclusions on the ending – we cannot wait to see if we get it right!

In Maths, we are going to continue exploring perimeter. We are going to focus on calculating the perimeter of compound shapes, using our problem solving skills to work this out.

In History, we are going to explore the last legacy of the Romans in Britian.

In STEM, we are going to be looking at structure of a plant in more detail, focusing on plant life cycle.
