Year 4 have been amazing this week – what lucky teachers we are to have them in our classes! Even though our week looked a little different, the children still managed to blow us away with the creativity and passion that they brought to all of our learning.
In English, we finished learning about the Mezazoic. We have started writing our Non-fiction texts using our new knowledge (we now have a year group full of experts). To do this, we have been focusing on using conjunctions to add additional information. In Maths, we have been looking at informal methods for the multiplication. We have applied this to the multiplication of 3 digit numbers by a 1 digit number. In Geography, we continued to explore the different biomes, this time looking at the biomes that have been most impacted by humans. In Science, we are exploring evaporation and used demonstrations to show this.

We became scientists and set up an experiment to explore how temperature impacts evaporation.
Maths and Spelling
Please find the maths learning for this week here: Spring 2 Week 4 Maths.
In Spelling we have been focusing on the /o/ sound. The /o/ sound can be written as <o> as in bottle, or <a> as in swat. Some words to practice are: cot, stop, wash, wasp, wander.
