This week in Year 4 has been full of creativity, curiosity, and problem solving across all our subjects. In Maths, we have been working on comparing and estimating numbers using number lines. The children practised placing numbers accurately and then challenged themselves to estimate larger values, which really helped deepen their understanding of place value and number sense.
In English, we have been focusing on character creation. The children worked hard to develop characters with interesting personalities, thinking carefully about how their characters might act, speak, and react in different situations. These will play an important role in their short stories, which we are excited to continue writing over the coming weeks.
In STEM, our focus was on health and science as we explored the role of minerals and vitamins in keeping our bodies strong and healthy. The children made some great connections with real-life examples of the food we eat every day.
Art lessons saw us continue our Greek pottery designs. We are beginning to add patterns and details inspired by ancient Greek culture.
Reminder: Please ensure PE kits are in school and family photos are brought in.
