Dear Parents and Carers,

Year 4 have had another lively and engaging week full of hands-on learning and exciting discoveries.

In Maths, we explored decimals by comparing and ordering tenths and hundredths, using number lines and place value grids to help us understand the value of each digit.

In English, the children have been busy drafting their expository writing, focusing on clear explanations, organised paragraphs and factual detail. Their ideas are really starting to take shape!

Our STEM lessons took us into the fascinating world of animal adaptations. We compared different fox species—like the Arctic fox and fennec fox—to see how each has evolved features suited to its climate.

In Geography, we learned about the two types of deserts: hot deserts and cold deserts, discovering how these extreme environments differ.

Finally, in Forest School, Year 4 enjoyed an adventurous outdoor session where they worked together to build dens and create food feeds for wildlife. Their teamwork and creativity were fantastic to see.

Well done, Year 4, on another brilliant week!
