This week we were looking really closely again at the details found in living things, such as this Silver Longhorned Beetle. Then, each class jointly made a copy of the whole insect by dividing it up into sections with a grid, like this:

In English we have been publishing our Norse myths on old looking paper. They look great! We are really proud of the quality of writing that children have produced in this unit.

In Maths, we have completed a short unit on time, including reading calendars, the analogue and digital clock, converting between the two and reading time using the 24 hour clock. You can find the worksheets here: Summer 1 Week 5 Time

We are near the end of the epic story of Cogheart in Guided Reading – sometimes it is very hard to put down! We recommend the next couple of books in the series as a good summer read: Moonlocket, Skycircus and Shadowsea, all by Peter Bunzel.

The Spanish home learning activity is here: Spanish Blog Summer 2 WK2

Next week:

We will be rounding up our unit on Buddhism with some personal reflection on the Noble Eightfold Path and some art work.

In Maths we will be revising decimals and fractions and then using them to calculate money problems.

In English we will publish our non-chronological reports and complete our summer writing showcase.

In STEM we will complete our end of unit assessment on living things. You may want to go over the 7 things that all living things do.
