We have had a lovely first week back at school, it has been wonderful to hear all about the children’s Easter adventures. We have had a very busy week and we know that everyone is getting very excited for our residential next week (teachers and learning coaches included).
In English, we have been looking at rhyming couplets, we even looked at half rhyme to challenge ourselves. We used these words to write our own poems about school! In Maths, we have continued looking at division by chunking and have been using practical exampled to practices these skills. In Science, we have been looking at Electricity and will continue to explore this topic this half term. We also launched our DT project, looking at ways to transport tomatoes for farmers in Nepal! In Guided Reading, we have started reading our new book: The Land of Roar by Jenny Mclachlan.
Spelling
This week we have been looking at polysyllabic words (words with more than one syllable). We have been breaking the words into their syllables and focus on the spelling of each of these. Some words to practice: balloon, teacher, history, science, climate.
Guided Reading
Next week we will be reading Chapter 5. Find a PDF copy of the book here: https://online.flipbuilder.com/fdyv/brbc/index.html
