It may have been a short first week back but that did not stop Year 4 from doing some brilliant learning! It was lovely to see all the children back and well rested after the half term, we have loved hearing about what everyone got up to.

This week in English, we have started our new book, ‘Arthur and the Golden Fleece’. To help us use the book in the upcoming weeks, we have been learning some background information about Norse Mythology and the Vikings. After this, we also started to look at how authors create ‘unlikely heros’ and had a go at creating our own. In Maths, we have been looking at coordinates and have incorporated our learning on shape to help us with this. In Guided Reading we have continued to look at authorial choices and the impact these have on the reader, we have specially looked at the difference between imaginary and real. In STEM, we looked at nutrition and the importance of eating a balanced diet. In Spanish, we looked at different clothes and how to describe them. We have also launched our new project this term: Philosophy, Religion and Ethics, we will be exploring what a good life is to different people.

How many ways can we sort these different foods?

Guided Reading: we are continuing to read ‘The land of Roar”. Next week we are reading Chapters 25-28. Find a PDF copy of the book here: https://online.flipbuilder.com/fdyv/brbc/index.html.
