We have had a wonderful week in Year 4, it was lovely to share how proud we are of the children during learning conversation and family Friday! What a positive way to end the week!
In English, we continued reading “The Boy at the Back of the Class”. We are coming to the end of the book so decided to pause our reading and think about possible endings. After lots of discussion, we planned our alternate endings and have began to write these.
In Maths, we continued exploring decimals by looking at how tenths add up to make whole numbers. We have been ordering decimals and fractions, focusing on the composition of decimal numbers and unpicking what this means. Please find our learning from the week here: Maths Worksheets W6
In Science, we put our knowledge about the Great Barrier Reef to the test! We used our data handling skills to annotate and describe different graphs linking with this. We then had to decide which graphs were useful to explore coral bleaching and discussed ways to represent this in our books.
In Art, we continued to develop our posters and finalised our designs ready for next week.
In Guided Reading, we read chapters 20, 21 and 22. We navigated many plot twists and had a great time theorising and predicting how the book might conclude. Please see a pdf copy here: https://www.yewtree.tgacademy.org.uk/files/2021/03/The-Boy-at-the-Back-of-the-Class-by-Onjali-Q.-Rauf-EBOOK.pdf
