This week in Year 4 has been a busy and rewarding one, with the children showing great effort across all subjects despite still feeling quite tired after our recent trip to Caythorpe.
In English, the class has been focusing on publishing their short stories. The children have worked hard to edit, improve, and present their writing neatly, taking pride in their final pieces. It has been wonderful to see their creativity shine through and their confidence grow as young authors.
In Maths, we explored different types of triangles and quadrilaterals. The children learned to identify and describe their properties, using the correct mathematical vocabulary. Towards the end of the week, we also introduced the concept of time, looking at minutes, seconds, hours, and days. This is an area we will continue to build on.
In Computing, we explored “Little Bits” and used circuits to create a range of simple projects. The children really enjoyed experimenting and seeing how different components worked together to make things happen.
In STEM, we continued our topic on light. The class investigated which colours are most visible and discussed why this might be, linking it to how light reflects.
Overall, the children have worked extremely hard this week. We are very proud of their effort and perseverance.
