What a week we’ve had in Year 4!
In English, we looked back at our year and reflected on all the amazing topics we have covered. From there, we all chose a specific one to research about, using a variety or resources, and started planning a non-chronological report in the form of a poster. The children really showed all the skills they have learned during this year when researching, taking notes and designing their non-chronological reports, it was incredible!
In Maths, we also looked back at all the skills we have learned and revised the formal written methods for each of the four main operations, which helped us solidify our knowledge.
In PRE, we continued to discuss the noble eightfold path and created some awesome freeze frames for each of the eight paths.
In Art, we continued to look at still life drawings and used some items to arrange our own still life picture to draw. This was really interesting and led to some incredible drawings that showed a great understanding of perspective.
In Guided Reading, we red chapters 41 to 47 and discussed many interesting questions such as how to think before acting and the meaning of emotions. We also discussed the characters and what led the author to write them in a certain way.

Key Messages: Week 5 – Written Formal Methods
Reminder that Thursday 13th July, starting at 9:00am, there will be our KS2 Sports Day. Each child must have sun cream and bring a hat. Additionally, they should wear attire with the colour of their team. This does not necessarily have to be a solid colour, but enough to be recognisable. We understand that this might not be possible for everyone, which is why we encourage you to share any extra relevant pieces of clothing with other families if possible, thank you.
