Our highlight this week has been our trip to the Cambridge Museum of Technology.

We explored different inventions and took part in interactive, hands-on workshops about bricks, steam pumps, printing press and communication methods. Thank you to all the parents who accompanied us on the trip.

In Maths we have been really working hard on our times tables and we have enjoyed exploring patterns between them. In the past few weeks we have looked at 3,6,2,4,8. Keep practising these at home to develop your confidence.

Have Fun Teaching on Youtube has some good times tables song.

We are really excited about our persuasive writing in English. We have been set the challenge of thinking of ways to help our school community with recycling and food waste. Therefore, inspired by Greta Thunberg’s speech, we created a bank of emotive language and features of persuasive writing that we will use in the coming weeks.

NEXT WEEK

  • Year 3 Snuggle with a story from 8.45-9.30AM. Please wait outside the office and a member of staff will let you in the library.

Oak Snuggle with a story on 27.01

Redwood Snuggle with a story on 28.01

Maple Snuggle with a story on 29.01

  • We are doing an indoor PE session and an outdoor one every week so children need to have the correct uniform for each one.
  • Please remind the children to hand in their reading records if they want their books to be changed.

Reading challenge:

Find the transcript of an interesting speech to share with the class. Practise reading it out loud with expression so you can perform it to the class.
