We have been so impressed by the children’s writing this week. They have been incredible authors, writing ‘The Lost Chapter’ to the story of Odysseus, imagining that before his journey home to Ithaca, he encounters one final challenge in the form of a terrifying creature! In our stories, we have been consolidating our learning on expanded noun phrases and powerful sentence openers…to great effect!!
In Maths, we have been consolidating our learning on numbers lines, putting them into real life contexts.
As part of this, we were also reminded that
-
- 1000ml = 1l
- 1000 kg = 1 kg
- 100 cm= 1m.
We have also been practicing counting in multiples of 20, 25 and 50 and using this to read number lines in a variety of ways. Here are the sheets that we worked on this week if you would like to consolidate this learning at home: Au1 W5 Maths Worksheets
In Science, we learned all about Hippocrates and why he is known as the ‘Father of Medicine’. We used all we had learned to write some posters about him:
In Topic, we did an amazing job painting our Greek pots using intricate patterns and designs typical of the Ancient Greek era:
