This week we have had an exciting visit from SkipBeatz, a world-record holding skipping champion! Pete gave us a demonstration of his incredible skills with a skipping rope, as well as showing Year 3 some techniques and tips. We also had an impressive demonstration from a child in Maple class who showed us how to do crossovers! The children have loved getting more confident at this form of exercise. We also learnt how it can help us to have a more healthy and active lifestyle.

During the week, we have also been working on a cross-curricular project which has tied our Maths and English learning together. The children have designed and made a board game based on the book ‘The Explorer’ by Katherine Rundell. They have included written instructions for how to play their game as well as some mathematical concept or skill to practise when playing. They are keen designers and we have been impressed with their ingenuity.

We have really enjoyed our science lessons about plants this term too, and the past few weeks have seen Year 3 experimenting to find out what plants need to grow well and how water is transported within a plant. Some of these experiments have had surprising results.

Next week:

Please return all reading books to school to be sorted for the summer.

Please ensure you collect all your child’s belongings including their PE kits and indoor shoes.

Last day of term is Thursday 22nd July.
