This week has been Skipping Challenge Week!

We have been putting ourselves (and our teachers!) skipping talents to the test by practicing different skipping skills. Here are the bronze, silver and gold challenges that the children can continue practicing at home…Virtual-Skipping-Skills-Sheets (002)

In Maths this week we have started our unit of learning on fractions. We have started exploring parts and wholes as well as identifying and creating equal and unequal parts of shapes: Maths sheets Year 3

In English, we have been thinking mindfully and deeply about the impacts of fast fashion on people and the environment. We have begun to explore ways that we might engage an audience to inform them of these impacts through use of:

  • 2nd person
  • rhetorical questions
  • emotive language

In History this week we ordered fashion styles in chronological order (all the way from Vikings up to the present day), building on our fashion show last week. In Art we began to create the faces for our puppets!

Congratulations to all of the children who completed Bikeability Level 1, which involved learning about gears, braking and steering. Children will receive their certificate, badge and information pack if they haven’t already.

Coming up next week:

  • SCHOOL CLOSED NEXT FRIDAY 30TH APRIL (Teacher Research Day)
  • Maths: We will be continuing our learning on fractions, deepening our understanding of equal and unequal parts
  • English: We will be exploring further ways to engage our audience and will be creating video messages to inform people of the effects of fast fashion

Happy weekend everyone.
