It has been a great and learning filled start to the final half term of this academic year!

In English, we have been completing an author study. We have been looking at British author Anne Fine, we have been  learning about her life, her writing style and the numerous books she has published. We used all of this knowledge we had gathered to create our own fact files about her.

In maths, we have been exploring angles. We started by looking at and identifying right angles and understanding that a right angle is 90 degrees, we used our angle eaters to identify right angles around the school. We found so many! We also learnt about obtuse and acute angles and how to identify them. Find this weeks’ sheets here:

In STEM, we explored what 7 life processes make a living thing and created our own poster explaining these.

Next Week:

In English we are writing our own version of ‘Diary of a Killer Cat’ with a focus on paragraphs.

In guided reading, we will be continuing to read ‘The Wild Robot’ by Peter Brown.

In maths, we will be applying our knowledge of angles to 2D shapes as well as continuing to expand our knowledge of symmetry.
