What a truly wonderful Arts week we have had in Year 3! The children have loved exploring the story of ‘The Firebird’. The week began with some active storytelling sessions that transported us to the forest where the story took place. The children were then inspired to create beautiful illustrations of the firebird and compose their own musical responses to different parts of the story.
During English we created banks of vocabulary for each letter of FIREBIRD before writing our own acrostic poems. Look out for the displays in the classroom windows to see the gorgeous and thoughtful work created by your children.
Next week:
English: we will be exploring and writing haikus
Phonics: <ee> (/ee/ /ea/ /ey/ /y/ /ie/ /e_e/ /e/)
Maths: adding ones, tens and hundreds
Science: the function of different parts of flowering plants
Geography: finding countries and continents on different maps
