This week has been another wonderful week in Year 3. During science the children have researched fossils and the fossilisation process. They created some beautifully presented posters showcasing all the facts they had learnt. The children have really enjoyed exploring the Egyptian myth ‘Day and Night’. The children concentrated on the skill of uplevelling adjectives using thesauruses and applied their vault of vocabulary to a description of Ra (the Egyptian god of the Sun). - All children have water bottles and a healthy snack that contains NO NUTS, e.g. chopped vegetables or fruit.
- All children have their names on their school items, such as jumpers and PE kits.
NEXT WEEK
Phonics/Spelling: Focusing on <y> (yes, fly, myth, sunny)
English: We will be researching sacred animals in Ancient Egypt. We will be using the information we have gathered to form non-chronological reports.
Maths: We will continue to look at 2 and 3 digit numbers as part of our Place Value unit, including placing numbers on number lines.
Reading: Our text this half term is I Was There Tutankhamun’s Tomb by Sue Reid.
STEM: We will be learning about Rocks & Fossils this half term.
Project: Our project this half term is a history focus: Ancient Egypt. The information on this knowledge map explains what we will be covering during our lessons. Next week, we will be looking at ancient Egyptian myths.
Religious Education: We will be learning about Hinduism this half term.
