This week has been another week of fantastic learning in Year 3! In English, we have been exploring the features of non-chronological texts and using this, alongside our information about Tutankhamun to write our own report introductions.

In maths, we have been looking at finding the previous and next multiples of 10 and 100 and we have used number lines to support our understanding. In topic, we have been learning more about Ancient Egypt. We ventured into an ancient tomb, where we found some messages written in hieroglyphics. We looked at what each letter the pictures represented in order to decipher the messages.

In science, we have continued with our learning about rocks. This week we conducted two experiments, exploring what it means to conduct a ‘fair test’ and how we make sure our findings are accurate. In RE, we began looking at Sikhism and the Amrit ceremony which welcomes Sikhs into the Sikh community. In PSHE, we discussed our dream school and what that would look like as well as how we could make our school better.

This week in Physical Education, we focused on footwork and coordination skills.

You can practice these by logging into your REAL PE at home class account  https://real.jasmineactive.com/login and trying out the footwork and coordination (skill) challenges.

Next Week:

In English, we will be finding out more information about the discovery of Tutankhamun’s tomb with a focus on using adverbs.

In maths, we move on to using numbers lines effectively and accurately.

Have a lovely weekend!
