We cannot believe we have already had five weeks of term! We have had a great week of learning, including two wonderful Art lessons. We created different buildings and trees out of coloured paper, which are going to be placed together in a collage as a city to represent our community. The different colours of the leaves on the trees will represent the five school values: empathy, respect, trust, courage and gratitude.

In Maths, we continued exploring number lines and estimating where different numbers would be placed on number lines to 100 and 1000. The children did a fantastic job explaining their reasoning for why they chose a certain location on the number lines. We looked at how we can apply number lines to the context of measurement, and the children had a great time estimating where the coloured water was in the giant measuring jug! Towards the end of the week, we began looking at dividing 100 into equal parts, as well as counting in multiples of 20, 25 and 50. If you would like to consolidate any learning with your children, the worksheets can be found here Au1 W5 Maths Worksheets.

In English, we continued drafting our non-chronological reports, and we focused on how we can use conjunctions in our writing to join different clauses and make our sentences more interesting. At the end of the week, we published our non-chronological reports with all the information about Tutankhamun’s life and the discovery of his tomb – they look fantastic!

This week in Physical Education, we continued to focus on footwork and coordination skills. You can practice these by logging into your REAL PE at home class account https://real.jasmineactive.com/login and trying out the footwork and coordination (skill) challenges.
