What a wonderful week! The children have been working incredibly hard this week to write their own responses to the question: ‘what are the qualities of an enjoyable friendship’. They have been extremely thoughtful about their responses and have produced super writing- well done Year Three!!

In Maths we have been continuing to explore lines and angles. We began by finding parallel and perpendicular lines in the classroom before deciding what makes something an angle. We have been using vocabulary such as acute, right angle and obtuse to describe different angles. Finally we applied our super new knowledge to describing different shapes- impressive learning Year Three! Have a go at these sheets: Maths W2

During our Art lessons, we have been looking closely at our eyes to create detailed observational drawings.

NEXT WEEK

English: We will be using our knowledge of persuasive writing to craft our own speeches about climate change

Maths: Drawing polygons and making 3D shapes

Reading: Our text this half term is Asha and the Spirit Bird:

STEM: We will be learning about electricity this half term.

Project: Our project this half term is a PRE focus. Here is a knowledge map that explains what we will be covering during our lessons: Y3 Sum2 Knowledge Map

Spanish: Spanish Blog Summer 2 WK2

Next week Oak class will be having their visit to Wandlebury Country Park- a massive thank you to all the grown ups who have volunteered to support this trip.

We still need a few more volunteers for the Redwood/Maple visit on the 25th June- please speak to your child’s teacher if you are able to help.

Have a wonderful weekend,

Warmest wishes,

The Year 3 team.
