This week we learned a lot about the Carnival in Rio through our story Steve Goes To Carnival. This ended with us writing a descriptive recount. https://www.bbc.co.uk/teach/class-clips-video/english-ks1-ks2-how-to-write-a-recount/z7dg92p
In maths we looked at different types of measurement and learned to compare these as well as to estimate using cm/m.
In science, we continued learning about food chains with our creative interpretation of this. We acted out a food chain focusing on the transfer of energy from the sun.
In PE, we have been exploring patterns in Carnival and moving to samba music. Here is a video to practise some moves: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q-Q6p2rwu1o
Next week we will be starting our 2 weeks Carnival STEAM learning. We will be exploring patterns in nature through different practical activities. We will also be writing poems and taking part in creative activities.
- We are looking for volunteers for the Carnival Parade on the 15th July. We need about 2 parents from each class to support with this and help us walk around Eddington. More details will follow about the parade for everyone but if you are free and would like to help from 1PM to 3PM on Friday 15th please let us know.
- Please complete the Ofsted survey below so that we get a full response about our school: https://parentview.ofsted.gov.uk/login?destination=give-your-views/survey/132298 You will need to register if this is your first time giving feedback about the school to Ofsted. Many thanks in advance.
- Please can you help us by ensuring all children still bring their hats to school and have a water bottle and snack.
- We also want to remind that toys are not allowed in school as we have had a few problems with this in the last few weeks so please remind children to not bring them to school..
