We have enjoyed a wonderful final week of autumn term with a festive story telling event, Christmas lunch and much more! After a very busy few weeks, we hope you all enjoy a restful holiday.
Summary of learning
In Maths, we have been revising some of our learning from the half term with a focus on our number bonds, related facts and adding one-digit numbers by crossing 10.
In English, the children have enjoyed sharing their non-fiction books and reading aloud with confidence. After Christmas, we will look at picture books in preparation for writing our own stories.
In phonics, we have continued to focus on the /n/ sound and to review the /oe/ sound. Phonics books have been collected in and new books will go out in the spring term next year.
In SPAG, we have been working on the continuous form of verbs (verb to be + -ing verb). For example, the teacher is talking, and the children are learning.
We look forward to seeing you back at school on Wednesday 7th January 2026.
Wishing you a happy festive season!
