We’re all thrilled to be back at school and are ready to dive into a new year full of exciting learning opportunities. Our project this term is monarchy (history) and in RE we are learning about Islam.
This week in English, our writing has been inspired by the book, ‘In Our Hands’ by Lucy Farfort. We used coordinating conjunctions and subordinating conjunctions to write about how we would feel if the world lost all its colour. Next week we will start a new unit on memoir writing.
In phonics, we have been reviewing the /n/ sound and our new learning has been focused on the /er/ sound. Words include: pearl, turn, twirl, worst, term.
In SPAG, we have been looking at comparative adjectives that use the suffix -er. For example: happier, nicer, sadder, fatter.
In maths, we have been adding across ten. We will move on to subtracting across ten next week.
