In English, we have started a new unit of writing- ‘information text’ inspired by writing for pleasure. The children will write an information text about their personal interest over the weeks to come. This week we looked at different models and focused on identifying technical language, sub headings, expanded noun phrases, illustrations and various openers and endings.
In geography, we have started our new project exploring the cities of Cambridge and London. The starting point was to locate both places on a map of the UK! Next week, we will explore some human and physical features of the beautiful city in which we live.
In phonics, our focus sound has been /ee/ and we have reviewed the /d/ and /ue/ sounds and retrieved the /ae/ sound. The children have received a new phonics book today. Please read this daily over the next fortnight alongside a reading for pleasure text of their choice.
