This week has flown past and we’re now heading into the final week before half-term.
After learning our text ‘How to Catch a Dragon’, we have innovated it by applying our knowledge of instruction writing to a new context. In maths we have wrangled up numbers into equal and unequal groups and seen the connection between addition and multiplication. In history we have learned all about motte and bailey castles and why we don’t tend to see catapults around Windsor castle!
Next week:
Phonics: /air/ air/ ear/ are /ere/eir/ayer/ ayor
English: we will be focusing on narrative writing around the story of ‘The Queen’s Hat’.
Maths: we will be continuing to develop our knowledge on multiplication with a deep dive on the two times table.
History: we will be using everything we have learned so far to consider what makes a good monarch.
THURSDAY PE ANNOUNCEMENT:
Thank you for all your feedback on the changes we made to PE on thursdays. After reviewing it, we have decided to scrap the changes made.
This means: Children will come to school on thursdays in normal uniform from now on. They will get changed at school and their PE kits will stay in school.
Thank you for your co-operation and understanding.
Best wishes,
The Year 2 team
